Queen Mary's Dark Harbor 2015 Review!

The Queen Mary's Dark Harbor is back with a vengeance to scare and give nightmares to those who dare to enter the ship. After last year's great event I was wondering how the creative team of Dark Harbor would be able to top themselves this year.

Lullaby

This maze is based off Scary Mary, one of many icons that appear at Dark Harbor. This maze tells the story of a young girl that drowned at the ship pool and is now haunting the ship.

"Ring around the rosy, a pocket full of nightmares. The new Lullaby maze takes the visitor on a spine-tingling trip through the story of little Scary Mary. Gone, but certainly not forgotten, Mary is looking for playmates to join her on the other side of hell. Will you succumb to the youngster’s pranks and tricks, or will you escape with your soul intact?"

Lullaby is one of best story driven mazes at the event this year and we will not spoil anything but make sure to go through this maze.

DEADRISE

This maze is back but with an all new layout. If you have ever been in this maze in the past years then you will quickly realize that this is basically a new maze. You can even choose different paths while in the maze!

"As you enter Deadrise is a WWII escort ship that helped guide The Grey Ghost through enemy-infested waters. After a fatal crash during one of their dangerous voyages, Deadrise sank to the bottom and has been resting in her watery grave in the depths of the sea ever since. The wreckage of Deadrise has once again been called into service by the star of Dark Harbor, The Captain, to escort him and his armada of ghosts and monsters into a battle against the living to reclaim Dark Harbor"

CIRCUS
This maze is back but also with new scenes added to this circus themed maze. One of my favorite rooms in this maze is a ball pit room. You enter a room with a ball pit and a clown waiting to scare you. This is one risk that was worth it and paid off, I have never been to a haunt that has used this in a room before. This maze is fun and scary but we would like to see something new for next years event, just to spice things up since they have such huge space to work with.

"Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and experience the world’s most horrifying circus! Face your greatest fears as you wander through a terrifying tent of terror inside the cavernous dome located next to the Queen Mary. Disorienting illusions, maniacal magic acts, and a cadre of sideshow freaks are certain to shock, stun, and startle even the bravest of souls."

SOULMATE

This maze if one of my all time favorites from last year's event and it is back with all its grace and creepiness.

"Gale has been haunting Dark Harbor looking for a soul mate since her mysterious disappearance. A meandering maze of mystery, Soulmate is where Graceful Gale lures potential suitors with her charm. Beware of her minions, whose job it is to chop up her suitors and reassemble them into the perfect man. Once you’ve been smitten by Graceful Gale, there is no escaping…even after death!"

This maze is located on the Queen Mary ship and it could not be in a more perfect place. The scenes are just done right to make you feel like you steeped back in time and something has gone horribly wrong on the ship. You quickly find out that Graceful Gale is putting together the perfect man by using other body parts to build them. This maze is creepy but I still love it and I highly recommend going on this one.

B340

This maze gave me goosebumps as we went through it. You enter the mind of Samuel the Savage a crazy murder who's head is so twisted you get the chills in the maze. This year's talent for this maze is amazing and they have really stepped up their game. The scenes are mostly the same as last years but with a few new twists to help tell the story of Samuel the Savage.

"What would drive a man to madness and murder? That’s the answer B340 attempts to answer as we take a schizophrenic sojourn into the psychotic mind of Samuel the Savage. Tight spaces, darkness mixed with flashing lights, and pulse-pounding noises would drive anyone to the brink of insanity. Beware the wrath of violence of Samuel the Savage and be careful not to lose your head or your mind!

VOODOO VILLAGE

The theming for this maze last year was our favorite. The New Orleans flavor in this maze is even more spooky and filled with even more dark and twisted rooms than before. From walking in a swamp, to witnessing human sacrifices and talking to a lost drunk girl after a Mardi Gras party, this maze does not fail to entertain. The use of voodoo symbols and artifacts scattered throughout the rooms really sealed the setting.

"Enter the bayou of brutality! Protected by the Voodoo Priestess, the Voodoo Village has been overrun by the traveling gypsies of the Ringmaster’s Circus and they don’t like visitors. A nightmare of necromancy for all those who enter, Voodoo Village takes you through a maze of sinister spells, macabre ceremonies and evil spirits. Of course, even if you’re lucky enough to survive the gypsy’s sanctuary and the southern crypt of death, you’ll still need to get through the deadly swamp where gators are the last thing you’ll have to worry about."
